Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling hit southern Lebanon

BEIRUT — Israeli warplanes and drones resumed their strikes today, accompanied by intense artillery shelling, targeting several towns in southern Lebanon.

Local sources reported that Israeli fighter jets and drones conducted airstrikes on the towns of Qantara, Rabb Thalathin, Deir Seryan, and Bani Hayyan. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Simultaneously, Israeli artillery fired phosphorus shells targeting the towns of Kfar Chouba, Kounin, Barachit, Qabrikha, and Aynata.

Israeli military aircraft also hovered over Lebanese airspace, breaking the sound barrier en route to Beirut, the country’s capital.
